Are you guys ready for a beautiful bathroom inspiration?
I recall first meeting Ben at Just Counter’s showroom. He stopped by before Florida officially reported its first two COVID-19 cases. The potential new customer explained that he was ready to turn their “blah” into “ah” in their guest bathroom and needed professional help. So, we scheduled an in-home consultation. Jump forward to our first in-home meeting. “This is the room I need help with,” Ben said as he pointed toward a guest bathroom. All at once I saw many dated items. This bathroom would be far more elegant if it weren’t for the banjo countertop, striped wallpaper, the wall-to-wall mirror, an uninspiring vanity cabinet, and the framed shower door.
While I stood in the bathroom, Jackie (Ben’s wife) poked her head in and smiled. “I don’t care what you two do, I just ask that you make this room beautiful,” she said before she departed. I looked at Ben and then back at the small room. I saw Ben’s dilemma, because I, too, struggled to find an inspiration. I simply wasn’t feeling inspired.
Creative block happens to everyone. Even the most accomplished artists experience times when they can’t find ideas. The one thing that brought a wee bit of inspiration was the colors in a framed abstract picture. But I needed something more to spark my imagination. That being so, I asked Ben to show me a couple of rooms in their home. I was looking for sources of inspiration.
When we reached the great room…viola! A great idea jumped into my head! The stacked stone wall behind the TV instantly helped me get my mojo back. I was looking for a bold design that would make a statement in that guest bathroom. I wanted the room to stand above the rest. I knew bold designs aren’t for everyone, but Ben and Jackie were prepared to start with a clean slate. I absolutely love the way this guest bath turned out. I love how the floor-to-ceiling stacked stone makes the room more of a “room” feel as opposed to a “bath.” The stone looks fantastic in the finished guest bath and is a real step up from what it was before. The stone wall added texture, color, and pattern. Speaking of the stacked stone, hats off to Pucci Tile & Marble. They did a fantastic job!
Of all the rooms in your home, the guest bathroom is arguably the easiest to forget. It’s out of the way and rarely used by anyone who actually lives in the home. I hope this blog inspires somebody else to create an inspiring bathroom. Bring the party to your bathroom.
Until next time, have a great week and thanks for reading!
