Cary after 1

Small yet Mighty

Before After

The plan was all about the plan when Cary and her husband bought this sweet condo in Punta Gorda, Florida, a little more than a year ago. However, when the couple bought it, they knew it had great bones but needed some work.

Cary found herself with this “ho-hum kitchen,” sad and unwelcoming to be in. She knew right away she wanted the complete opposite—a light, airy room that would be the heart of the home.

Our delightful customer wanted to know if I could drop by to access the situation. The situation, like many other older kitchens I’ve seen, was small and outdated. The cheap cabinetry and laminated countertops made the space appear especially uninviting for guests. Mustard yellow walls used to be the cheerful go-to color and beige was the sought-after neutral; now, gray is quickly becoming a popular home renovation trend, popping up in newly-renovated kitchens. Cary didn’t care for ordinary white kitchen cabinets. She wanted to take the kitchen to the next level by bringing in bold, swoon-worthy colors. This tiny kitchen floorplan basically just needed a refresh.

I tried to keep things simple. I measured the small kitchen. A few days later I presented the design to Cary. To maximize planning for their kitchen condo renovation, Cary came to the first meeting with lots of ideas. She allowed me to make the design decisions while she focused on the nuts and bolts of colors and finishes. Cary selected Aspect Cabinetry in Castlegate, a gray stain, with a Shaker door style.

It’s not often l am lost for words, but this renovation has me scrambling for the right ones! Cary’s project is nothing short of stunning. This tiny kitchen achieved an extraordinary transformation in the space with lustrous sparkling ultra-bright, white stone countertops, wood-look plank floors, mosaic tile backsplash, and a classy farmhouse sink. The homeowner kicked the mustard yellow color to curb to turn to fresh gray walls. The materials Cary chose will keep this kitchen appearance current for years to come. Shades of white, gray, and hints of red set the scene for this bright and airy kitchen. Small bits of red color can make an impact, and that was proven in this precious kitchen.

Our talented installers, Ben Hanson and Tylor Lefever from Just Counters did another outstanding job. Every step of the way, from template to fabrication to installation, Imex Stone did another fantastic job.
